Brighter curtains = stronger local model activity. Clear, dark skies still matter; this is not a visibility percentage. Moon orbit is illustrative and not to scale.

The continuing story

Iceland: one story, five chapters.

THE MAIN STORY · 5 CHAPTERS

Why I keep coming back.

I’m Abhishek Roy. I travel all around the world, but the northern skies keep calling me back. Beneath the aurora, the noise of everyday life falls quiet. I feel present, small beneath something extraordinary, and close to myself in a way I usually only feel at home.

I’ve been to Iceland five times. Each visit is a chapter in the same story, from adventures shared with my brother to nights spent watching the sky unfold. This is where I keep the photographs, the memories, and the reason I keep chasing the lights. The aurora keeps me alive.

Five years beneath northern skies

One place for the aurora, and how to chase it.

This is everything I have gathered through five years of chasing the aurora: the places, the planning, the lessons learned along the road, and the stories that made me return. Use it to plan your own chase, or simply come along through mine.

Fancy joining me on the next adventure? I would love to hear from you. I’m preparing a newsletter with curated itineraries, practical aurora notes and news of my next journeys, including opportunities to join a group. Private aurora tours across the Arctic are also in the works.
