Email subscriptions

When email delivery is enabled, you can opt in to new stories, aurora alerts, or both. We store your email address, chosen viewing places, consent date, confirmation status and delivery records in site storage. Your address is sent to Resend to deliver confirmation and subscription emails. No subscription starts until you confirm your email. We do not sell the subscription list.

Every subscription email includes preferences and unsubscribe links. Unsubscribing removes your address and preferences; delivery logs use an address hash and message identifiers. Unconfirmed requests expire after 48 hours. Aurora alerts use selected public viewing places, not GPS tracking. Data may be delayed or unavailable and alerts never guarantee a sighting or safe road access.

Signup remains unavailable until email delivery and background checks are connected. There are no public story comments.

Forecasts and embedded players

Weather, aurora, map and camera services are provided by third parties, including NOAA, MET Norway, Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap, YouTube, Twitch and IPCamLive. Loading an embedded player may share your IP address and browser information with that provider. Their privacy and cookie policies apply. Data may be delayed or unavailable.

Country choices and preferences may be retained locally. The site uses technical hosting and request logs for operation and abuse prevention. Do not share private or emergency information through the website. There are no public story comments.
